The National Museum Talk by Jamal Bin Hassan Al Mosawi

Date: Monday, 24 November Time: 7 pm - Amricani Cultural Centre Language: Arabic We invite you to attend the lecture, "The National Museum: A Social Dimension Beyond the Traditional Museum Narrative," presented by Jamal bin Hassan Al-Mousawi. The presentation explores the role of the National Museum in relation to the social dimensions and urban development of the Wilaya of Muscat, where it directly contributes to employing residents of the Wilaya in which the museum is located, in addition to empowering and developing the skills of artisans, empowering women, and contributing to the urban development of the Wilaya of Muscat. Al-Mousawi is the Secretary-General of the National Museum in Oman. His previous roles include Director of Technical Affairs, Regional Director of Arts and Culture for the Middle East, and Curator at Qatar Foundation’s Museum of Modern Arab Art. He holds a master’s in Visual Arts and Cultural Studies from the UK, lectures at international institutions, and has received major cultural honors including the Order of the Star of Italy (2022), the French Order of Arts and Letters (2023), and the Pushkin Medal (2023).
