Historical Walking Tour of Mubarakiya Market

I fell in love with Mubarakiya Market in 1979, when I first began working here as a photojournalist and was sent on assignment to cover the souk coming to life at dawn. It was magical, and the souk soon became one of my favorite places in Kuwait. I've continued documenting it over the years and although it has changed, it still embodies some of Kuwait's best qualities: friendly people, traditional Arabian hospitality, a cosmopolitan society, and a personal way of doing business in an unhurried atmosphere.
