We invite you to attend the lecture, “Scholarly Life in Kuwait During the 12th–13th Centuries AH (18th–19th Centuries CE),” presented by Yahya Abdullah Mohammad Al-Kandari.
The study examines the rise of Kuwait’s intellectual movement in the 12th–13th centuries AH (18th–19th centuries CE), highlighting scholars linked to Kuwait, their writings, and travels. It features figures like Sheikh Abdullah Al-Atiqi and Sheikh Othman bin Sanad, explores the origins of the name “Kuwait,” and references a rare early manuscript by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Tabataba’i preserved in Basra.
Yahya Abdullah Mohammad Al-Kandari is a researcher at the Arabian Horse Center in Kuwait specializing in the history of chivalry and medieval martial heritage manuscripts. His work includes editing key historical texts on equine lineages and authoring studies on Ayyubid and Mamluk military literature and figures.
