We invite you to attend a lecture entitled "Reconsidering Pre-Islamic Arabia and the Early Quranic Revelation: Regional, Religious and Astronomical Contexts," presented by Dr. Raymond Farrin.

The lecture explores the religious, political, and astronomical events surrounding the emergence of Islam and the beginning of Quranic revelation in Mecca.

Dr. Raymond Farrin is a Professor in the Department of Arabic and Foreign Languages at the American University of Kuwait. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, Berkeley, where he specialized in classical Arabic poetry and earned his PhD in Near Eastern Studies in 2006. He has lived in Kuwait since then, teaching Arabic language and literature at AUK.
