Produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick, The Shining is based on Stephen King’s 1977 novel of the same name. This psychological horror film follows the story of Jack Torrance, a writer and recovering alcoholic who takes on a new position as the off-season caretaker of the Overlook Hotel.

Frequently cited as one of the greatest horror films of all time, The Shining was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2018, recognizing it as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

يعتبر من أشهر أفلام المخرج الأمريكي ستانلي كوبريك، وهو مأخوذ عن رواية رعب نفسي بالعنوان ذاته للكاتب ستيفن كينغ. تدور أحداث الفيلم حول جاك تورانس، وهو كاتب طموح يتعافى من إدمان الكحول، فيقبل عملًا بوظيفة حارسٍ في عُطلة الموسم لفندق أوفيرلوك.
