Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 September 2026

This policy explains what information List Kuwait collects when you use our website and mobile applications (together, the Service), why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

The short version: you can browse everything without an account, and we collect very little when you do. If you choose to create an account, we collect what is needed to run your profile and the things you post. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Using List Kuwait without an account

No account is required. Browsing events, places, categories, search, the map and deals all work signed out.

When the app starts, it requests an anonymous access token from our servers so it can load content. Against that token we record the IP address it was issued to, the platform (iOS or Android), the app version, and counts of how many items were requested. We use this only to keep the Service running and to detect automated scraping and abuse. It is not linked to your identity, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

2. Information you give us

If you create an account, we collect:

  • Account details. Your email address and display name, received from Apple, Google or your email sign-up, along with a profile picture if your provider supplies one. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever receive Apple's relay address.
  • Profile details. A username (handle) if you claim one, an optional bio and profile photo, and your visibility settings.
  • Content you post. Reviews and ratings, comments and replies, photos and videos you attach to them, check-ins, saved listings, collections, and the accounts and venues you follow.
  • Event submissions. Anything you send us when suggesting an event or venue, including links and images.
  • Support messages. What you write in Help & Feedback, so we can reply.
  • Reports. If you report content or another user, we keep the report and what it refers to so we can act on it.

3. Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information. Device type, operating system version and app version.
  • Usage data. Which screens you open, which listings you view, and what you search for. We record this in our own analytics log so we can see which content is useful and improve what we show. If you are signed in, this activity is associated with your account.
  • Crash and performance data. Via Firebase Crashlytics, so we can find and fix bugs.
  • Server logs. Standard request logs including IP address, kept for security and abuse prevention.
  • Sign-in records. The time and IP address of recent sign-ins to your account.

4. Location

The app asks for location permission so it can centre the map on you and show how far away an event, venue or deal is. You can decline, and everything except those conveniences still works.

Your location is used on your device only. We do not send it to our servers, and we do not keep any record of where you have been.

5. Photos, calendar and notifications

  • Photos. We ask for access to your photo library only when you choose to attach an image — to a review, a comment, or an event suggestion. We receive the images you pick, and nothing else from your library.
  • Calendar. If you add an event to your calendar, that happens on your device. We do not read your calendar.
  • Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can send reminders about events you saved, replies to your content, and occasional announcements. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

6. How we use your information

  • To operate the Service — showing listings, saving your items, running your profile and the follow graph.
  • To publish the content you choose to post.
  • To send notifications you have asked for or allowed.
  • To moderate content, handle reports, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To protect the Service against scraping, fraud and abuse.
  • To understand which content and features are used, so we can improve them.

7. What other people can see

Reviews, ratings, comments and photos you post are public and appear on the listing they relate to, next to your display name, username and profile picture.

You control your profile separately. Setting your profile to private removes your profile page, keeps you out of search, and stops new followers — but content you have already posted stays visible on the listing where you posted it. If you want a specific review or comment removed, delete that item.

Your email address is never shown publicly.

8. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of service providers to run the Service:

  • Google / Firebase — sign-in, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting and in-app messages. See the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, if you use it. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
  • Mapbox — map rendering. Map requests include the area of the map being displayed.
  • Amazon Web Services — storage of images and other uploaded files.
  • Cloudflare — content delivery and protection against attacks and abuse.
  • Sentry — server-side error monitoring.

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the safety of others.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Content you post remains until you delete it or we remove it under our Terms. Analytics and server logs are kept for a limited period for security and product analysis.

If you change your username, the old handle is reserved for 90 days before it can be claimed by anyone else. This prevents someone from taking your former handle and impersonating you.

10. Your choices

  • Browse anonymously. Do not sign in, and we hold no personal information about you.
  • Control your profile. Switch between a public and private profile at any time in Settings.
  • Delete your content. Reviews, comments, check-ins and saved items can be removed individually.
  • Delete your account. Settings → Delete account in the app removes your account and everything you have posted. See section 11.
  • Block and report. Block accounts you do not want to interact with, and report content that breaks our rules.
  • Permissions. Location, photos, calendar and notifications can each be turned off in your device settings.

11. Accessing and deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app: open Profile → Settings → Delete account. If you signed in with Apple, Apple will ask you to confirm first. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

When you delete your account we remove your email address, name, profile picture, bio, sign-in details and username, and we delete everything you posted or did: reviews, ratings, comments and replies, photos and videos, check-ins, saved items, collections, the accounts and organizers you follow, your followers, likes, deal claims, notification settings and push tokens. Every device you were signed in on is signed out at once, and your Firebase sign-in record is deleted as well.

Two things are kept. Your username is reserved for 90 days so that nobody can take it and pose as you, as described in section 9. Conversations you had with us through Help & Feedback are kept as a support record, with your contact details removed. Analytics data is unlinked from your account. If we are required by law to retain something, or need it to prevent abuse of the Service, we retain only that.

If you no longer have the app, see listkuwait.com/account/delete for how to ask us. You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it, through the Help & Feedback screen.

12. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections and storing sign-in tokens in your device's secure keychain. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.

15. Contact us

For any question about this policy, or to make a request about your information, contact us through the Help & Feedback screen in the List Kuwait app.
